I’m genuinely curious, can they even see who they’re shooting at?
Gunfire is a lot about making noise and simply shooting back, under heavy gunfire any soldier is unlikely to stand up and charge forward. The percentage of soldiers being killed from gunfire in wars is very low and yeah, very often will they shoot in the enemy’s general direction without seeing them.
