Don’t really know how you can break the fourth wall in a panel / quiz show when half the lines are delivered directly to the camera
It’s only breaking the fourth wall if the conceit is meant to be a setting where the camera doesn’t ‘exist’ in the production. I wasn’t convinced about him taking over, but he’s a breath of fresh air!

I know that it is a real matter of opinion, but I think Rajan is so much better than Paxman. I had started to get really frustrated with his stuffy and sometimes patronising approach, and Rajan made for such a breath of fresh air.
