Mongolia's refusal to arrest Putin despite a warrant for his arrest will have consequences for Ulaanbaatar, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said .
“Mongolia allowed an accused criminal to escape justice, thereby sharing responsibility for his war crimes. We will work with partners to ensure that this will have consequences for Ulaanbaatar," said the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgy Tykhi.
This is Huyl's first visit to a country that has ratified the Rome Statute since his arrest warrant was issued.
"The failure of the Mongolian government to comply with the mandatory ICC warrant for Putin's arrest is a severe blow to the International Criminal Court and the international criminal justice system," the spokesman added.

It looks like one of his body doubles anyway.
This is an easy stance to take when you are sitting in the safety of your parents basement somehere in western europe or usa. Mongolias geopolitical situation is not an excuse, its a fact of relaity and you and everyone else would do the exact same in their situation.
I never bring out my mounted soldiers when welcoming a wanted war criminal.
I just hope it’s a trap
Do the horses come in adult sizes?
Plus pedophile..
So what, they are supposed to be rude when welcoming an overwhelmingly powerful nation? Mongolia is sandwiched between both Russia and China and they have their own country to worry about. If they were to act aggressively towards Putin in any way then they would risk their own independence. The consequences for the country if they did arrest Putin would be far greater then if they didn’t… They rely on Russia and China much more then they rely on the West.
Realistically they had no choice and people criticizing Mongolia for this instead of understanding are only going to make the country more likely to be dismissive of the West…
International order is fucked up. UN require restructuring.
Cute ponies.
I think time will come we cut off his ugly head with rusty saw feeding him before with Novichok and Polonium. F$&@g bastard. I am in Moscow. Слава Украине!🇺🇦
OP brain dead take on geo-politic fails to realize that if you don’t receive your psycho neighbor with a proper welcome, you might not live the dinner.
You do whatever you can to appease him. The world’s police can’t even reach you.
For you Ukrainians out there, I understand you are not happy with Mongolia’s decision, but it is their decision. There is no point in wasting energy on this topic. It is a distraction. I’m not sure if there is anything the Mongolians can or will do to impact the war. BTW, It was the correct decision to take the war into Russia backyard. I hope you guys keep gaining ground and give the Russians some well deserved payback.
They probably know it’s not the real Putin but a double. Why would he distance himself from everyone and everything to then go to Mongolia and kiss a child on the cheeks and walk close to everyone there.
I’m tired of ppl using the Mongolia situation like they know better.
Do you even understand how a coutry geopolitic and trade work?
if so you would understand that Mongolia is heavily dependent on China for its trade, particularly for exporting its vast mineral resources. Russia plays a critical role in Mongolia’s energy supply and while other countries are involved in trade, their influence is considerably smaller compared to China and Russia.
The ICC is just proof that Mongolia is more leaning toward a democratic thinking then their surounding partners.
Peoples are being outrage to Mongalia because they have absolutly no clue and not desire to understand how stuck and against the wall they are.
Last but not least i would love to hear how is Mongolia suppose to extraded Putin if they were to arrest him ?
by land ? by plane ? which way China ? Russias ?
Mongolia’s population is 3,493,629 in 2024 and almost 50% of it lives in the Capital Ulaanbaatar which is 200 -250km from the Russian border.
Tell me now what would happen if they arrest him and that 50% of a country population live in one place..
They’re riding ridiculously small ponies to make Putin feel at home.
so part of ICC as long as they dont have to enforce anything?
Just shows which side the Mongolian leaders have chosen
He likely stole that little girl
# This is not how you welcome a war criminal as party of the ICC…
Well, if the guy and his country controls 50% of your border, maybe…
It’s easy to stand up and criticize that, of course. At least if you look at the whole thing from the comfort of your own outside, right?
I’m sorry but what are you expecting to happen?
Have the Mongolians arrest Putin? Then what?
They somehow get him extradited while the international conflict it sparks descends their country into chaos? Potentially being occupied by Russia/China. Is Europe and the west gonna protect them?
The ICC is one big virtue signalling joke anyway so why we are making this the hill to die on eludes me
Why kissing little girl??? Creap!
There is no international law.
reality is UN and ICC are outdated…and now other countries see there are no consequences ignoring them. also laws dont apply equally to everyone. China bullying in asia, russia commiting warcrimes everyday, world ignoring myamar and countless other conflicts. Economic interest surpass any moral stance nowadays. Harsh reality but unfortunately true.
What a pedo creep!! he kissed a small random girl.
So gross seeing him kiss that innocent child.
Not one single part of your post is addressing the fact that Mongolia is economically completely fucked with no hope of any help from the west. All you said is “for those who talk about Mongolia’s geo political situation have you considered that Mongolia is a signatory to the ICC”
Their geo political dependence on Russia and China and the wests lack of any relevance in the region is precisely why they welcome Putin lmao.
Try telling the average joe in Mongolia they should risk war (because it would be an act of war) and then subsequently see no help from the west just so that a bunch of redditors can say “wow omg big applause to Mongolia for doing the right thing!”
It’s like you people really have some weird idea that Mongolia had the power to end the war with this situation.
Mongolia is indeed completely dependent on russia. As much as I hate it, they need to balance their diplomacy between China and russia, each of which could totally cripple Mongolia within one to two weeks time, without any greater repercussions to their economies. Absolutely nobody expected them to do otherwise.
He must be there to solve gas pipeline issue that Mongolia put aside as it was not their priority. After I saw this warm welcome, I see its already done.
Turkey wants to join bricks and Mongolia who is in the ICC wont arrest war-criminal Putin (for kidnapping more than 4000 Ukrainian children and place them around Russia) when he is visiting. Big part of US voters is voting for Trump, and they ignore (or are ignorant to that) Donald is working to weaken US democracy and foreign alliances.
A lot of things are not as bad as it seems, and others have the potential to be the worst thing, with the worst outcome the world can imagine.
It looks like Putin but I wonder if it is a double just in case he did get arrested!
I can see Mongolia breaking away one day.
man I wish one of those horses went “mad” 😀
Who is this awkward guy in the back woth the glasses ?
United Nations, ICC etc. nobody really cares about them. If you can’t enforce anything it’s useless. Going for in the League of Nations footsteps.
How is the drone protection over there?
Agreed. Not sure why the meeting even occurred in the first place. Perhaps some kind of economic coercion? But to welcome the scumbag of all scumbags like this? Fuck that
I wish one of those horse riders in the background would run over Putin.
If only the West treated Russia the same way they treated Iraq during the 1st Gulf War, maybe the whole war will not drag this long..
If the geopolitical situation doesn’t allow Mongolia to be an ICC member, it’s fine. But why Erdenebalsuren Damdin is a judge of ICC, if Mongolian geopolitical situation doesn’t allow Mongolia to comply with the Rome Statute?
So nice they brought in midget horses for the midget dictator!
They are both in suits, but they are medieval savages. The dead Mongolian and the about to die Russian empires have met.
People talking about UN, NATO, International law, it’s the people, we ordinarily people who can do something. If you are against a country for me like example india (because they are anti women) I will never go to that place or buy stuff from there. And people who are CEO of a bug company also just can do that.
Mongolians on little horses like that OWNED Russia for hundreds of years!
The should be expelled for this.
I’m sorry but this is an idiotic post and OP is completely clueless about state visits protocols. What do you think a visit looks like? Especially when you admit Mongolia doesn’t have many alternatives? What do you want? A backdoor welcoming?
Sure. Maybe that works in your fantasy head but this is the real world and in real world, the problems of Ukraine doesn’t precede nor take priority over the problems of any other country if said country depends on conflicting interests and are geopolitically restrained.
There’s nothing special in these images. This is a state visit like all the other state vists, only one of not just your neighbor but of one who you depend on. So the least you can do is maintain protocol and approach the visit in friendly manner.
Mongolia enjoying that dirty oil/gas money from Putin
ICC and UN are a joke, they have members like Russia and Iran which are global terrorists and commit every possible crime imaginable, yet they preach justice to the world.
Just don’t expect anything from them and try to ignore their morales, they only represent global interests and nothing but.
mongolia’s utterly pathetic
