  1. Ivan, 45 years old, born and raised in Riga, Latvia: “Nooooo you can’t make me learn Latyšskij dog language blyaaaat dis is literally Nazism blyaa”

Three Ukrainian children who visited a Welsh school for 11 weeks:

  2. Sorry Pedro,

that’s our fault, we took our foot of Dafydd’s neck and let them start learning and teaching their alphabet soup of a language again

  3. I love our Ukrainian refugees. I had a woman and her kid stay in my apartment for 7 months while I was away in the military. 10/10.

I haven’t heard a single bad thing about the ones who have come here. Them being mostly women and children certainly plays a part but still.

  4. Well at least people in Wales speak Welsh unlike our OP’s Galician (which is just badly pronounced Brazilian)

  5. Leave the native languages of the British Isles alone! Suppressing them is our job.

It’s pretty sick that foreigners are learning Welsh actually.

  6. Kid’s brains are like sponges but when you’re an adult and want to learn new stuff, you’ll fail miserably …

  7. The real victims are this kids, they had their country mauled by a warmonger and now another psycopath forces them to learn this witches’ language…

  8. That is the best pronounciation of ‘archfarchnad’ ever. I propose that Natalia is entered into the poetry competition at the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru and just repeats ‘archfarchnad’ in strict metre.

  9. Waiting for the Welsh equivelent of that film where the Chinese guy learns gaelic and goes to Dublin

  10. “What do you miss most about Ukraine?”
    “Dad.”

FUCK YOU IM NOT CRYING YOURE CRYING! ***AAAAAARGH***

  11. Very cute, too bad semester 2 of Welsh cultural immersion is sending them down the mines to dig for coal.

  12. I remember taking a train near the border with Wales back in December and being weirded out that they had Welsh language first and English second, both in writing and vocal announcements on the train itself.

The language sounds very nice. I read a bit about it and apparently there is an effort to promote it once again, with good success.

All in all it’s a huge cultural win and I’m very glad for Wales.

  13. Wow that’s so wholesome, they seem to be integrating well combined with a language revival
