Arabs and Africans are hurting themselves by supporting Russians. imagine if Palestinians sided with the US and EU countries during the Cold War instead of supporting Russia, China, North korea and Cuba againstthe west, Israel wouldn’t have been supported by the Western world.
…so a military coup sponsored by Russia installs a military dictator, other nations in the region impose sanctions, and this guy goes around waving a Russian flag in protest.
Okay. Good luck with that. I don’t think it is going to help.
Either the West is as purely transactional as Russia and you just picked the significantly weaker side that bought you the problems you are upset about, or both nations have values and you picked a staunchly self serving imperialist nation that doesn’t have even a drop of liberalism and that is literally fighting a war to reclaim a colony.
I don’t think things are going to turn out like he hopes.
Nothing but desperation and recency bias. They’re quickly going to face a harsh reality that China and Russia aren’t there out of pure benevolence either. Unless they learn to reform their own countries, they will remain in their destitution. Africa can only rely on Africa, not on anybody else.
