41 killed in Russian attack on Ukrainian city, President Zelensky says | BBC News

Ukraine’s President Zelensky has said 41 people have been killed in a Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Poltava.

The eastern city was hit by two Russian ballistic missiles leaving 180 people injured, with some dragged out from under the rubble and saved, the preliminary report suggested.

Zelensky added that the missiles hit the “territory of an educational institution and a nearby hospital”.

One of the buildings of the Institute of Communications was partially destroyed, he said.

Unconfirmed Russian sources have claimed the strike hit a military training centre.

  7. "educational institution and hospital" = Military Academy and Hospital. We know hospitals are OK because when Israel stormed one a few months ago in Gaza, Biden said "good job!"
    All is fair in love and war…."

  8. Zelensky needs to go. He seems like a person who is using Ukraine and the war to benefit his own international importance. He Brags when they kill Russians calls for more international weapons when Russia retaliates.

  9. I don't know if they are buying them from Iran or North Korea (or both), but Russia CLEARLY has more Iskanders to use than ever before. I saw one fired at a single Ukrainian tank a couple weeks ago. Only the United States is wealthy enough to fire $1M missile at a single tank….. Something has changed; if RU has that many cheap Iskanders now……I mean those things are 1000kg of HE hitting at Mach 6 with 10m accuracy…."

  10. Im unsure what they want they British public to do or feel? We're more concerned about the boats and hundreds of thousands of people coming over draining our gdp and public sectors??? yet i doubt that'll get much coverage. How disjoined could our government be?

  28. Have been scrolling the videos of BBC, and was shock to see there was no report of Israel bombing Ghaza. Then searched the about it, and it come across that BBC is heavily funded by Israel.

  29. The comments on this thread are 90% sympathetic towards the Russians and the fact that this war was forced on them. Strange how the BBC has never given a balanced view on the conflict. I am amazed so many people can see the truth.
