What’s behind Ukraine’s biggest government reshuffle since Russia’s invasion ? | DW News

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has become the latest member of the country’s Cabinet to step down as part of a major government reshuffle, parliamentary speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk announced on Wednesday.

Several ministers already stepped down on Tuesday, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy saying changes to the government are necessary to strengthen it and achieve Kyiv’s aims amid the ongoing Russian invasion.

The government shake-up comes as Kyiv and Lviv were hit by a new wave of Russian missiles and drones overnight.

At least seven people were killed in Lviv, the city’s mayor said.

  1. Kuleba is a very professional and smart guy
I think it's all about loyalty but not his professionalism
Invading russian Kursk Zelensky has stepped on a thin ice and now he needs a loyal team to follow his venture

  2. At least the victims will not suffer the gulags and firing squads like Stalin's purges in the 1930s, but they will have the same disastrous effects on moral. This is just rearranging the deck chairs on the SS Titanic to be closer to the iceberg…. sad, so sad…

  3. Since the coup d'état in 2014 Ukraine has not existed as a state anyway, and in that non-existent state, even the president's mandate has expired.
I really don't know what this is about.

  4. In house fighting, and resignations, 13 cabinet members gone, Ukrainian troops surrounded and retreating in Pokrovsk, the Kursk offensive faltering and Ukraine pulverised overnight.

  5. Changes are necessary but give him a promotion. In another area he will do a great job. He is a very intelligent and articulate loyal person.
