the last soldier

I see a lot of posts that talk about PSG players, young players or sometimes rising stars but very few about him maybe because he has been there for years.
He has even been criticized several times, it has been said that he chickens out during big matches but for me he is a real soldier, not always good but he is there.
I put very few people in the legend category, especially players from the QSI era, but I have no hesitation about him, I consider him a legend he is for me the worthy successor of great players who have been there like Raí.
If one day he were to leave, I hope that he will be given the tribute he deserves, even if I would like him to retire at the club.

  1. Maybe it’s my bias, as I will forever be in favor of marqui starting. But too many reactionary supporters who want him at the stake when we perform badly. I think they forget how crucial he was in getting us to the final or the season following getting us to the semis against city. At one point he was easily top 6-7 CB in the world but mistake after mistake in the ucl which inherently weren’t 100% his fault; on top of the World Cup disaster that Brazil had where they put him up for a penalty of all players just completely killed his confidence. Yes he doesn’t have the best leadership but nostalgia blinds people especially when it comes to Silva as well, I think lots of people forget how much leadership we lacked when it came to important matches. The comparisons between Ramos and Silva the two best defenders in the world at the time always came down to, not their abilities but their leadership as well. Which is where Ramos outshined Silva by a mile. Marquinhos will always fight till the end for the badge but being surrounded by divas, at the time, makes it hard to speak out about the club and lead when said divas are backed by the clubs owner.
