  1. I would think China could not be listed as the whole country considering this is not done for any other source.

  2. I need to study the visual and chart a little more to comment, my immediate reaction/thought was “Lite Brite – I loved that when I was a kid!” More thoughts after review.

  3. It would be nice to have some quick totals by country, as we are given China’s number. It immediately made me want to add the numbers to see where other countries stood.

Special Side Note: Most of this money goes to the ending of other people’s lives. It would be beautiful if we spent this much money trying to be friends.

  4. The title is still misleading because, even excluding non-defense business, not all of the revenue these companies take in from their defense sectors is in exchange for “weapons.” Booz Allen and Leidos products are ISR and C2 related, nothing that could be classified as a weapon although both are heavy hitters in defense contracting.

  5. Why is China all grouped under one … meanwhile the United States is broken out by company?

It’s clear the United States is one of the largest arms dealers in the world by a mile, but this chart clearly does not show this. The United States has 42% of the global arms export market vs 5.2% for China as of 2023.

  6. The coral colored box appearing in 2005 at the bottom of the chart is missing a label I believe. Besides that, cool data!

  7. Shout out to Rolls Royce. I know they do military planes, but I’m envisioning a RR Phantom speeding through a shelled out field with GIs pointing M4s out the windows. (Or SA80s, whichever)

  8. Booz Allen Hamilton doesn’t sell weapons. Its a professional services company that has a significant presence at the DoD.

  9. This chart tells me that aid to Ukraine is a stimulus for American arms manufactures and not a blank check money sink to a corrupt foreign government. My 401k is happy about this!
