  1. Dutch neighbours watching this and thinking…wow…impressive mountains they have there.

  2. I mean, with the Chernobyl exclusion zone currently being closed to tourists due to… slight tensions in the region, this hike is basically the closest you can get to the experience

  3. Well, normally the company is more important than the view. But in this case the view is still better…

  4. Tbh. this could also be easily mistaken with Delmenhorst or some area in the Ruhr Region.

    Same vibes.

  5. When you have these clichés about places being ugly, you know that usually they’re an exaggeration. But I’ve been once to Charleroi and there are no words to make it justice. It’s even uglier than your worst expectations.

  6. A least it’s dramatic. Go to Flanders and it’s like being in Euro Truck simulator- the same 3 house types (Swiss Lodge/ Spanish Villa/ White box with no windows) strewn out along straight roads and almost completely flat to avoid draw distance issues.

  7. I don’t even find this ugly. I was born in the big grey too. I’m not even really internally happy, if I don’t wake up in a foggy, grey sky, windy, rainy, too cold for southerners type of weather.

  8. How does one even hike in Belgium? Walk for about 15 minutes in any direction and you’re pronably not even in Belgium anymore

  9. How does a nation that far in the west end up looking like backwater industrial communist country is beyond me.
