  1. He’s spot on, the club World Cup and the new format champions league are absolute nonsense nobody asked for. Everyone loves football but we literally don’t need to watch it every bloody day.

  2. Says the highest paid premier league player who earns more in a week than most do in over a decade.

Edit: no, I won’t reply to the 115FC fans trying to strawman me about whether KBD deserves that money or not.

For clarity for anyone else, a guy who has played an average of 25 games per premier league season and runs under 4km per 90 really shouldn’t be bitching about player safety being endangered. And certainly not using the argument “it’s all about the money” when he commissioned a stat company to convince Pep to pay him more.

  3. Well if he’s playing too much as a Man City player, he could always go to a less successful club, where he would earn less money. Didn’t think so.

Everything in football is about money.

  4. He is kind of right as City does not need to value money as they have an eternal flow of oil money.

  5. What’s he complaining about, more money for FIFA means more money they can distribute to clubs in official competitions, which directly benefits City who pays his salary.

Also, wasn’t this clown negotiating with Saudi this transfer window? Man’s probably gonna leave next season to get a bag and is here moaning about money lol.

  6. Just because he’s part of a dodgy club and earns millions and millions of quid a year doesn’t meant he’s wrong. Somebody needs to say it, and more and more players are saying it.

  7. He’s right but tbh if I am being paid as much as him I would be content.

Also ironic considering the club he’s playing for.

  8. Of course. What’s the point? It’s like people just now realize we’re in a capitalist society

  9. People who keep on saying “What about his salary?” are ignoring the fact that it doesn’t compensate for footballers having their opinions regarding player welfare being ignored with money being prioritised over that – FIFA and UEFA needs to understand that over-saturating the calendar by the expanding World Cup, Club World Cup and the European competitions will risk diminishing the value of football once top players start getting constantly injured – at some point the players need to take action to ensure that their voices are being prioritised

  10. Yeah, he’s a multimillionaire and is paid very well but he is right. The human body can’t even heal fast enough for the amount of games they play these days with training sessions etc in-between. Something is going to have to give, either less matches or the quality of the sport will start to drop as players get more and more injury prone

  11. Wouldn’t this be a valid argument if the clubs themselves didn’t organise friendlies in Australia 2 days after the season had ended to play matches.

  12. The source of the message does not make the message itself wrong. The ones who say “fuck off” should fuck off themselves. It’s like you stopped thinking as soon as you saw his name.

  13. Firstly – he tried to engineer a move to Saudi this summer. So clearly, he values money above everything else too.

Secondly – if you offered him (and everyone else) fewer games, but they also have to drop their wages… How many would take it?

Thirdly – fuck obscenely wealthy people complaining about having to work to hard. Quit and get a different job if you’re unhappy with your current one.

  14. The fixture congestion is fucking insane to be fair, FIFA should be ashamed.

But these clowns are not the appropriate poster boys for it
