Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Mongolia on Monday, his first visit to a member of the International Criminal Court (ICC) since it issued an arrest warrant for him last year. Putin was welcomed by a guard of honour as he landed in the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar while Kyiv, the West and rights groups that have all called for him to be detained.

ICC is as joke as United Nations
People may think Mongolia supports Putin because we haven't arrested him, but the situation is far more complex. Mongolia has a fragile economy and located between two powerful neighbors, Russia and China. Our survival and stability depend heavily on maintaining good relations with both. If we were to take such drastic action as arresting Putin, we could face severe economic and possibly military repercussions from Russia, with little to no support from other nations.
Our decisions are driven by these harsh realities, not by support for Putin.
No consequences for Mongolia? Disrespect of ICC should have consequences. This is a huge scandal for international law.
