Russia’s Putin arrives in ICC member Mongolia: Could he be arrested? • FRANCE 24 English

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Mongolia on Monday, his first visit to a member of the International Criminal Court (ICC) since it issued an arrest warrant for him last year. Putin was welcomed by a guard of honour as he landed in the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar while Kyiv, the West and rights groups that have all called for him to be detained.

  1. People may think Mongolia supports Putin because we haven't arrested him, but the situation is far more complex. Mongolia has a fragile economy and located between two powerful neighbors, Russia and China. Our survival and stability depend heavily on maintaining good relations with both. If we were to take such drastic action as arresting Putin, we could face severe economic and possibly military repercussions from Russia, with little to no support from other nations.

    Our decisions are driven by these harsh realities, not by support for Putin.

  2. The desires of the West no longer count for anything in the world. The West has lost credibility because its wars born for freedom, were made for the interests of a few. The West can no longer teach anything to other peoples.

  3. ICC is only to chase after African dictators, white dictators got scott free? But this is old news, Putin has been and gone, having received a warriors welcome… but Macron the dictator has selected a PM against the French people's wishes?
