Is it common practice to take so long lining up shots and sometimes ultimately not firing when receiving fire from the target? I have no military experience but my thinking would be id rather put rounds down range if I have the crosshairs on a second attacker after taking a shot on the first.
Or actually perhaps is they took the first shot then abandoned the gun to take cover from the incoming explosives. That is what i assume is happening here.
Looks like the sniper missed. The hit detection here was lacking.

sniper hit can be seen landing in front of the enemy. After shot schope missaligne to the second person standing there sametime landing smoke of the bullet can be seen.
