7. September 2024: Climate protest in Bremen City: Police take 31 activists into custody

Among other things, the climate activists had called for the “unannounced assembly” on X (formerly Twitter) for 12 o’clock. The police were involved with numerous forces. Around 1:30 p.m., the police broke up the assembly. However, because some protesters remained at the intersection, according to the information, “31 activists were partly carried from the street and taken into custody”.
According to their own statement, the emergency services made various reports, including violations of the Assembly Act and coercion. Around 3:35 p.m., the intersection was reopened.
The protest mainly affects traffic in the city center. There are also restrictions on buses and trains: According to the Bremen tram’s homepage, the trains of lines 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10E as well as buses of lines 24 and 25 will be diverted.
So I guess governments think if they arrest enough people, the whole climate change thing is going away….let us see how that works out years from now.
