Which goals did the Bayern management set for you? Winning the Champions League and the league title?

Kompany: "Of course at a club like Bayern, you have to win trophies. But that's nothing new for me. I grew up in this winning culture at Anderlecht. Even at Burnley, a club that had the third smallest budget in the Premier League, I wanted to win every game."

Are you happy with Bayern's transfer window?

Kompany: "I have a phenomenal squad. But compared to the past, the competition – Leverkusen, Leipzig, Dortmund and more – has become stronger too. From a footballing point of view, it's become more difficult to dominate the league."

Lothar Matthäus has recently criticized your defense. Are the media in Germany more critical than in Belgium?

Kompany: "I don't know. I know what will be written anyway. But Anderlecht was a good learning curve for me, at all levels. I grew up in this world, so it doesn't really concern me.
