I hope the Burmese Ruby stays hidden. It’s so ugly, particularly compared to the tiara that was dismantled to make it.
I so associate the Vladimir with Her Late Majesty that I hope it stays in the vault for a bit just for sentimental reasons. I know I’m being extra, but I’m just not sure I could handle anyone else wearing it any time soon, except maybe the Princess Royal. 🤷🏽♀️
The Cambridge lovers knot should be. It is synonymous with Diana as it was gifted to her on her marriage to Charles and given back on their divorce. Every time it’s worn it just gives vibes of Diana’s ghost appearing.
I’m team “no tiara should be hidden”.

Charles is aware enough that ostentatious shows of wealth are a bad idea for an institution that survives on effectively special funding, but his instincts are so incredibly bad that he doesn’t realize that this is one of the few things that people enjoy watching. People like the pageantry and the artistry of some of these pieces. It would be a different discussion if these were all brand new pieces being bought (though… some are definitely gifted more recently…) but these are pieces with context and history and frequently made by great artisans. Look at how the Swedes view their jewelry collection with such pride and wear it knowing that they are wearing a historical connection to their heritage.
God forbid the royals take fewer helicopters and motorcades, but there are fewer and fewer tiara events happening.
I was so disappointed they decided on no tiaras for the coronation. It would have been so fun to see all the beautiful tiaras on the family and their guests!
