First chapter of my new novel (Youtube video). The voice is “Alba” from the PIper text-to-speech engine, and the video is photos from around Fife, mostly.

This is the first chapter from the first book that I have written since moving to Scotland. The audio track is generated by the “Alba” voice from the Piper text-to-speech system. I used these audio files to help me when I was proofreading the book. It isn’t audiobook quality, but the “Scottish” voice is the most expressive and easy to listen to of all the options I tried. What do you think? I’m planning to make the whole book available for free in this form if there is any interest.
The video is made up of photos that I took around Fife, mainly. There are a couple of non-Scotland photos, pretty obvious which are the odd ones out I think. I’m going to be donating a couple of books to the Dunfermline Library, they should be available next month – it took about six weeks for my first trilogy to appear on the library shelves.
