  1. I’ve seen “JOP” a few times. It means “Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques” with “Jeux” meaning “Games”.

    I don’t think there’s a proper English version of “JOP”. There could be POG…

  2. There are two meanings: one comprises of regrets from the embarrassing or controversial moments from way earlier (I’m looking at you, Seine!), but in this context, it’s more of weeping that a significant sporting season has ended.
