  1. Why do folk always complain about food when they’re delayed?

Would they ask Scotrail or Firstbus for a free meal if it’s a wee bit late or would they realise they’re using a transport system which are susceptible to delays and often happen.

  2. I feel like the article is a bit sensationalised

That being said previously I have had two hellish train journeys

One from Manchester to Glasgow were there was an overhead line outage north of Carlisle

And the other from London to Edinburgh with a transfer to Glasgow

Both involved long multi hour stops to clear the backup of trains up ahead

The Manchester to Glasgow one they put on a bus replacement or paid for taxis depending on where you were going

The London to Edinburgh one they eventually arrived in Edinburgh much later than they meant to, they were able to delay the last ScotRail train to Glasgow for us and put on taxis for those going to Aberdeen or elsewhere.

I was able to get a full refund on my London Edinburgh ticket since they are required to do that as well as providing an alternative route  (Manchester to Glasgow was work paid so I never bothered)

I think people need to be made more aware of their consumer rights

If it was a flight they would be required to give more than the ticket cost as well as providing food and accommodation

I believe the trains also need to provide accomodation if they can’t provide onward travel but I’m not sure

  3. So by 5.30pm the line was blocked between Motherwell and Lockerbie by a failed train ? Why couldn’t they just get a diesel locomotive out the depot and tow the whole train to Glasgow Central to free the line up ?
