  1. But how do they know that? It’s not like they are saying “he was in charge and therefore responsible” they are specifying the exact time he gave the command.
    That suggests that they have inside intelligence, either by talking to people that are there, or by capturing communications. Which of course is possible, perhaps even likely. But I would think they wouldn’t reveal that they have such access.

    Just to be clear, I’m not doubting the allegation. I’m sure Ukraine knows what it’s doing. I just can’t see the US issuing such a statement about one of its adversaries until after the war is over.
