  1. Good that I moved away from Apple in time. Sold my iPad, MacBook Air and iPhone earlier this year and switched to Samsung alternatives (except notebook which is HP).

  2. This is good, folks, AI is a privacy concern and not anything you need. The only use it has is for them to increase the amount of data they have on you as a consumer. This is something they would usually need to pay for, but in today’s age we are just fine with surrendering that info to companies, for whatever bizarre reason.

  3. Thanks. (Genuinly)

I saw their demo, I saw nothing that didn’t feel like a gimic trying to shoehorn AI into their ecosystem.

AI generated emojis – how will I live without it? I use maybe 10 of the tens of thousands of emojis I already have available to me.

And I am already out of college so I don’t need the cheat-on-your-exam feature, nor would I trust it over a search engine where I know the source.

  4. Fuck Apple.

They were just ordered to pay 13 BILLION in taxes in Ireland.

13 BILLION in one of the most tax friendly countries in the world.

    #13 BILLION

  5. And that it the fault of EU laws that you cannot opt out of, I do not care about those privacy laws, why can’t I opt out? (Not an Iphone user but still unacceptable).

  6. So nothing of real value is lost? What incredible functionality are we missing out on? Ai is a buzz word, filler content.

And for people saying “Go with Samsung”, those a-holes literally push a worse chip in their international devices compared to USA, as in exynos is proven to negatively affect battery life and picture quality( general performance too but thats probably not noticeable outside of benchmarks so w/e) compared to snapdragon. Maybe consider a pixel or something, unless you are targeting a Samsung device with a snapdragon.

  7. Phew, I don’t have to decide for myself what features or phones I want to buy, the EU knows better than I do. It’s for my own good.

  8. I mean you can install chatGPT on iphone. AI by Apple just forwards the data to openai servers anyway

  9. Apple have hit a new low here, and they’re not the only ones. This AI stuff is such a weak argument for releasing new phones, especially since a lot of these features often require internet/data connections to operate.

  10. Apple’s major software releases have always taken a while to reach the rest of the world relative to the United States. To name a fex, Siri, Apple Pay and map improvements took years to reach some European countries.

Apple had no plans for generative artificial intelligence in its devices and they have done so because they had no choice. In the United States, the most advanced functions will be launched at the end of 2024 or early 2025 because they are not finished.

Apple was always going to launch its AI later in the EU regardless of regulation because is not ready. In the meantime, it is campaigning against laws it does not like.

  11. Apple throwing a paddy.  Fine, I don’t care about the AI aspect. Why are they removing the screen mirroring feature.  Because they are children.  Petulant children.

  12. Wouldnt come here anyway, same as apple store, siri in our language, swipe keyboard, satelite support, apple cash, fitness,….

  13. Pretty delighted with all the Gemini features on my Pixel 9pro. The only features disabled are the ones that involve calling and recording people in calls. I can live without them.

  14. Apple Logic: make the Europeans pay more for a device with less functionality.

I hope the 16 flops in the EU

  15. So it will start to come to otger languages in the end of 2025. Doesn’t really matter, I don’t think I have much use for it anyway.

  16. As an Apple fanboy, I didn’t think it was any great shakes. A very underwhelming Apple Event.

  17. Does this mean the UK too? or are Apple going to be diligent when it comes to choosing European countries that are inside or outside the EU?
