Also while Merkel and Sarkozy rejected Ukraine’s wish to join NATO, Turkey was supporting it again as knowing what was coming next. Europe sold Ukraine to Russia years ago. But of course Turkphobia is popular here – you can believe your own propaganda.
And one more thing, though Turkey has economic relationships with Russia – yes still because of it’s weak economy, Turkey and Russia are historical enemies. Turks had fought with Russians more than anyone or anything for centuries and the last 2 centuries are bad memories for Turks so Turkey never trusts Russia – never. Just trade.
