The plan can’t truly be to just leave them there, right?
You have one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world, which on top is one of the biggest milestones in all of construction engineering. And you just want to slap on a flash color commercial for a foreign institution, which is regularly confronted with corruption and explotation of its athletes, and literally rents out that symbol to the highest bidder?
Like surely, that can’t be the plan. Imagine the US permanently planting a FIFA sign on the Statue of Liberty just because they host the world cup in 2026.
Well they do plan to remove them now that the games are over. Right?
