US & UK offer Ukraine more aid but no breakthrough on long-range strikes into Russia | DW News

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy made a joint visit to Kyiv to reaffirm their support for Ukraine in the war with Russia.

Blinken stated that the visit sends a “strong message” of commitment to the success and victory of a Ukraine “that stands on its own militarily, economically, and diplomatically.”

He announced $717 million (€650 million) in new economic and humanitarian assistance for Ukraine, including new support for the country’s energy.

Lammy promised British support until the war of “Russian imperialism and aggression” ends and described Russian attacks as “horrific, barbaric and unbelievable.”

He said the UK would also provide over 600 million pounds (€710 million $781 million) in aid to Ukraine.

But despite repeated requests from Ukrainian officials, neither offered any new concessions on the use of Western donated long-range weapons to attack targets deep within Russian territory.

On Tuesday, the International Monetary Fund also agreed to provide Ukraine with $1.1 billion in support for infrastructure damaged by Russian attacks.

What is either one of your business in international war except trying to talk a federal officer from 1 nation to kill federal officers from another nation because the poor people were being pulled out of my God damn combat zone with 10 million Taliban The people of Ukraine refused to leave and chose to kill officers with their freedom

  3. Nobody is interested in nuclear war. As such, Russia cant be made to lose. As Ukrainians are too culturally similar, when Russia takes over, their population will be easily assimilated. As such, all the Ukrainians now can be considered future Russian human resources. Every death in this was helps the security of Europe and the standing of the US.

    After Storm Shadows were fired onto a beach in Crimea killing civilians, Russia gave a warning to UK and US, if this continued, it will use a nuclear strike on Ukraine. Lvov on the Polish border might be a suitable site for a warning detonation. Russia does not use strategic ambiguity.

    The US and UK know Russia is not bluffing, that is why despite the rhetoric, they are reticent about allowing Ukraine to launch long-range strikes into Russia. Russia is in a position to escalate.

Many in comment section crying and blaming US and UK for not allowing Ukraine to strike more deep inside Russia.Onething I need to ask have you guys affected by some disorder don't you guys know Russia have 1000's Nukes with them and they also have Tactical Nuclear weapons in their Arsenel😏.Still they have not used mainly because of preasure from China and India because they too don't want Nukes to be used in battlefield but if you push Russia further and if they done something with Nuke to Ukraine then there is no use after crying when it has happened because Russia has nothing to lose except some of it's remaining allies abd they too won't leave Russia for sake of western countries this is the reality.Accept it (or) face the Consequences.

  26. The world knows, this is a US, UK war, EU is just forced into it because of history. They wish to revive the cold war for their own benefits. They see world economic order changing with some loss of the dominant role. They should accept reality and work hard to maintain their economic position in the world. Trump has been right, the resources used in Ukraine since 2014 would have made US way ahead of where it is. The philosophy that prosperity in other nations is a negative force to the US is wrong. Investing in Ukraine is just a waste of resources and lives , Russia is not Libya.

  31. The Iranian missiles are not really the issue, they are more like the last straw in a greater context. It is the continued glide-bombing and attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure, especially approaching winter, and the recent attacks on Lviv that has shifted the dial. Russia could be about to lose a lot of its airforce and ordinance factories.

The rules of war permit Russia to Nuke any target in the USA for this. in the first 120 minutes of the first volley it is predicted that 190 million Americans die. will you be one of the lucky ones to see the next day when the subsequent volleys arrive?
