  1. Torres surprisingly high, which does kinda go to show that stats don’t tell the whole story.

On the other hand, this backs up my long-held belief that Saka is overrated. If you heard Arsenal fans talking about their “Starboy” you’d think he was the second coming of Messi. He’s good, don’t get me wrong. He’s just not THAT good.

Raphinha is such an odd player. So productive despite not always passing the eye test. Bit like Ferran, I guess. At least Raphinha seems to have found a role in the new system that suits him well.

Edit for those who have misunderstood my original post:

    – Yes, I am aware I’m partially contradicting myself
    – Ferran’s stats are surprisingly good for a player who is not highly rated
    – Saka’s stats are surprisingly not-great for a player who is rated super highly
    – I think this backs up my (personal) view that Saka is a good but not great player
    – I don’t have an explanation for Ferran’s stats being so much better than expected
    – Oh, just in case it’s in any way relevant: I’m English

  2. Ferran’s got 30% of his productivity (3G 1A) from 1 game last season which skews his numbers. Without that 1 game, Ferran’s numbers are more along the lines of Bukayo Saka, which is still impressive.
