A closer look at one of the London maps, “Part of the City,” created by Marcus Dobbs

Earlier this week, I shared a collection of my artworks, and I was truly touched by the kind comments and messages from the community. Many of you expressed an interest in seeing more details, particularly regarding the maps, so I’m excited to share this one with you!

This map is the first in a series that explores the rich history of London. I created it back in 2020 using an iPad, and it took approximately three months to complete due to the extensive research involved. The map features many of London’s lost churches, livery halls, coffee houses, and Roman ruins.

My fascination with London’s history and old maps inspired me to embark on this project, as I felt that creating my own map was the best way to deepen my understanding of the city’s past.

I hope you enjoy exploring it as much as I enjoyed creating it!
