Well…I can see what they are trying to say about national determination and all that, but the moment the mentioned “employers and economy lobbyist” they lost me.
Have they tried to actually make the effort to prepare local people for those jobs and compensate them properly? Because one issue that I see all across Western Europe (and the “Western world” in general) is that, while everyone is always focused on their careers, the jobs that actually require effort (either physical or intellectual) are very hard to fill. With low-skilled jobs, I can understand immigration can lead to a race to the bottom, but it is not like Switzerland has a lot of farmland or industry for that to be a big factor.
