  1. Three guesses as to whom the gunmen had connections to. I guarantee that these people had connections to the mine or were paid by the mine owners to “amend” the situation with the activist.

    It reminds me of that story of that oil lawyer who shot those climate activists in Panama despite the activists not posing a threat to the lawyer.

  2. Sadly, this is far from an isolated case. Not much will happen until consequences reach the higher echelons of the corporations involved in such activities.

    Being an environmental activist in extractivist countries is not for beginners.
