  1. I would assume this is due to them both having different amount of playtime. But nevertheless lamine is THE gem.

  2. The issue with this stat is that Messi was coming into a well oiled machine with top players in that position and others on the pitch. Would Messi succeed in this Barca like Lamine? I think so. He was kicking ass and taking names at that age as seen in the u20 World Cup

  3. Player progression is not linear, just let Lamine progress at his own pace and not expect hil to surpass the litteral GOAT of football.

  4. Probably is not your intention but we must stop comparing Leo with Lamine even if we are talking just about stats, the less pressure on him the better

  5. Both can’t be compared , Yamal whilst being a sensation player isn’t that similar to Messi. Messi was explosive genius , like Mozart in a fit of creativity . Messi had no ceiling , Yamal has a very very high one

  6. People really need to stop comparing new players to Messi or Ronaldo. Those are some huge shoes to fill and it just puts pressure on these kids. Prime Ronaldo and Messi were simply on another level.

  7. The key takeaway from this is that Messi was better managed as a young player. Messi had a lot more hype as a young kid within the club and his talent was way ahead of Yamal, but his minutes were so much better managed. Messi really comes on the international scene at 19 and then he explodes.
