  1. The disparity in manpower and equipment should be alarming, but I understand I won’t find that here. Ukraine has been having troubles with manpower for months. Russia is prepping for 2025 to be a decisive year for the war. There should be severe doubts that Ukraine can sustain another year of defending the lines in the war when they are already faltering.

  2. “Good news, nobody lives in rural Russia anymore after all these mobilizations! Is free real-estate!”

    Russians living in Moscow, probably.

  3. That’s so dangerous for Europe. That’s an investment the Kremlin has to have a return on it

  4. By a year half of them will become fertiliser somewhere in Donetsk, a quarter of them will be in a bed as a casualty, and the others will be praying to not have the same fate as the other two groups.

  5. I note that they’re calling them ‘people’ and not ‘soldiers’.

They should probably call them ‘cannon fodder’ instead.

  6. It will get interesting once all the ethnic volunteers cannon fodder is depleted and must rely on fathers and their sons of St. Petersburg to carry on a senseless and costly war. Ukraine will win the attrition war if they can hold on for four years! The Russian war machine without key western components is simply breaking down.

  7. Most of them conscripted…the Russian army is reducing by 10k per month based on recruitment numbers and casualties

  8. Ok, and what about Equipment?

A solider without Equipment is a dead solider.

It seems russia Runs Low on Air defense Systems.

    And Artillerie.

  9. Hm let’s see Russia’s most recent loss rate has been trending around 1400 per day on average, so that will last a little more than 100 days.

Being generous, until the freeze this winter.

And that’s assuming it’s actually true. Russia has also supposedly increased the number of its T-14s but they’re so stealthy no one can see them.

  10. “In January, Russia announced plans to increase the number of troops to 1.5 million from 2023 to 2026.”

This article isn’t about actual manpower that has been recruited, it’s about on paper maximum size of the armed forces and plans to recruit more.

  11. My understanding of this article is that this is increase on paper?

I.e Russia increases number of units, but didn’t fill those spots yet
