  1. You can only view the MCU content and the SW movies so many times.

Even though Netflix doesn’t have every blockbuster anymore, they still don’t want to constantly add new material.

  2. The reality shows everyone seems to love is really driving this.

Love is Blind, Love on the Spectrum, VPR and Love Island (Peacock) are all huge drivers.

    Disney doesn’t have that.

  3. So who/what’s the purple?

It’s an inevitable conclusion. Early on Netflix had an international jump, but there’s now too many services, too many adverts, none can offer the value that was on offer 4 years ago.

Streaming won’t die but it’s getting ruined and the issues that linear TV was having are rising again.

  4. Everything on Netflix has become what used to be straight to DVD stuff. There is so much junk on Netflix and everytime you hear about a show that might have missed a few years ago, it’s not on Netflix. Seems like they are going to only have what they have made.

  5. As someone who wastes money on Paramount+, I can’t believe anyone would waste money on Paramount+.

  6. So purple is Warner Bros/Discovery/discovery+, HBO, HBO Max and Max all combined and still that far behind the others? oof

  7. maybe the constant price hikes is causing people to say F it. my Hulu TV is going up, Disney going up

  8. Disney spent sooo much money to lose share. Couldn’t happen to a better group. They are totally out of touch.

  9. I originally got Disney+ for Marvel and Star Wars content. But aside from a handful of series, those have largely become disappointing. I think I’m also just tired of it.

They rolled Hulu into it, which is keeping me subscribed for now.

  10. Netflix is super impressive. I wonder how much of the recent re-acceleration is form restricting password sharing and how much is from ad-supported tier.

  11. Once I got the email that it was almost doubling in price, I jumped ship.

I just thought of every movie I could, and my kid thinks Plex is Disney now.

  12. I love that Netflix is just chugging along even after all the campaigns telling people to cancel their subscriptions because they cracked down on sharing… Good for you Netflix.

  13. It’s not rational, but I’ve decided many years ago that “Netflix would be my only subscription. I’ll pirate the other shows I want to watch”

I’m not going to start paying for more than 1 subscription.

Just like if prime video doesn’t come with Amazon prime, I’ll just watch LOTR on some random streaming website

  14. Disney should have done it more organically. Once the free trials are up, people ditch it. Instead of getting sign ups for shows people want to watch

  15. As a consumer, I am subscriptioned out. I cannot handle more subscriptions. I also don’t think they lose share to other streaming platforms, as much as people are prioritizing the screen in their hand over the one on the wall.

Why pay for multiple services for background noise and the occasional movie when it is often filler material for whatever else is going on my phone or while I fold laundry.

  16. How is Netflix still growing. It got more expensive over the years and has less and less to offer. Most people I know who had it cancelled it long ago.
