Oxford Street pedestrianisation – is it really happening? Can it be true?

It'll be a big job. I like the idea but I share Westminster's concern about where the buses will go. Looks like the Western half (Marble Arch to Oxy Circy) will be done by 2027, and then the Eastern half (to TCR) will be done after that…?

Hopefully this includes a catch-and-crush ban on bloody pedicabs.

  1. As I said in the other post.

Westminster council already had working plans worked out with the retailers and residents for [Oxford Street](https://www.oxfordstreetprogramme.co.uk/) and Khan has waltz in, completely overridden their plans without consultation and is now trying to take the credit for all of this by completely pedestrianising the road. He wants it for his own legacy I guess.

Be interesting to see how this plays out and what Oxford street actually becomes though. it’ll probably attract more pedecabs though to be honest they’re already a nightmare for Westminster council.
