I would love (as I saw elsewhere) the Dems to use this opportunity to craft “save trump from assassination” legislation that is comprehensive, well thought out gun control and let the Reps vote against it.
I don’t think that even warrants that. Total nothing burger to distract from Trump being a real threat to society.
The third “assassination attempt” is coming as the first two did not give Trump a boost in the polls.

Curious. Was a shot actually taken? If not, wouldn’t it be more of intent to assassinate instead of an attempt? I know nothing about these things, nor the details of incident. I’m wondering how the defense will play this out.
