Vice president was for a while the runner up right? So they wanted them to be practically useless.
Make Civics Class A Thing Again
You know, since he has been president once, he really should know this.
What did Mike Pence accomplish? Aside from ignoring Con-old’s claim that a VP could refuse to certify states they lost.
Fun fact: she’s actually done a lot as an arm of Biden’s administration. You just have to bother paying attention and informing yourself to know that.
I mean, mostly yes.
However, the Bush and Cheney years shifted that power around a bit, and I don’t see myself as enough of an expert to explain these things in detail.
Here’s a lesson in civics:
The government is separated into legislative, executive, and judicial branches.
The legislative writes bills.
The executive signs them into law.
The courts see if the bills are constitutional.
Now, when you have both legislative and judicial sucking off Trump, they’re going to stop ANY progress like a border bill or student loan relief.
The ones responsible for fucking everyone are REPUBLICANS.
It’s largely a ceremonial position apart from breaking ties in the Senate

**The real question should be, why didn’t he (Trump) do all of these things when he was President and the GOP had the majority in Cogress?**
Hell, even most Republican members of congress don’t know enough about our government to know **their** jobs. They think they are there to run interference for Trump.
Name a thing any Vice President has ever done.
If only there was an Article II of the Constitution that explains this.

Because she still didn’t find the part of the Constitution that describes how can vice-president unilaterally make laws over the president’s will and bypassing the Congress.
If those people could read, they’d be very mad at this.
She still skated circles around Mike Pence’s contribution and there is room to argue she achieved more than that lying felon claimed to achieve.
They know this, its just politically convenient for them to forget about it at this one point in time.
Curious what OP’s thoughts are on Dick Cheney’s tenure as VP and his actions on shaping America’s “war on terror” post 9/11, or Spiro Agnew’s actions on suppressing student protestors on Vietnam War, or Biden’s work on negotiations with senate leaders during his time as VP.
They need to ask Trump what policies did Mike Pence create and control during his 4 years?
Also she had to stay in DC in case of a 50-50 vote in the evenly divided Senate.

Also, trump is a former president. Why didn’t he do any of the things he wants to do while he was president?
It has a lot more to do with a Republican-controlled Congress. They fucked around for weeks just trying to get a Speaker from their own side elected. They voted against the Inflation Reduction Act. They blocked a border bill because Trump thought it would look bad for his campaign. They have no interest in governing, only in power.
If Kamala wins, she will fulfill one of her constitutional duties of counting and certifying the Electoral College vote for President. And in during so will elect herself president.
Their heads will explode. But this has happened before. It has happened during my lifetime. It happened when George H.W. Bush (the VP of Reagan) certified his own election as President in 1988.
By insisting on this, they are also clearly signaling JD Vance would do a lot which is probably going to be bad for this country.
Yep. The public loved Theodore Roosevelt but Republicans hated him. The Republican party supported his vice presidency so he could be there to make the party look good but prevent him from having any real power. Then Czolgosz decided to kill President McKinley and that plan went out the window.
VP’s main purpose is just to be alive to stand -in for the prez when needed.
