Whether you’ve just interrupted an orc and and ogre going at it, you’ve fireballed half your mates, shot those pesky O’Driscolls, given into GlaDoS or finally caught that shiny Pokemon you’ve been chasing, the gaming thread is for you!

Come on in, have a chat, and let us know what you’ve been playing this week.

  1. Installed chivalry 2 on a whim and I’m hooked. Been in a bit of a gaming dry spot for a while not really bothering but this has changed things. Specifically love the 1v1 mode, trying to figure out and outsmart my opponent to cave his head in with a medieval hammer.

  2. It’s been back to Ace Combat here! I’ve played them since I was a kid and rumour has it there’s a new entry out next year.

Just love the gameplay and music. Smashed through Ace Combat 7 and just onto the DLC which I didn’t play the first time through.

  3. Playing red dead redemption 2 for the 6th time, also just started a new football manager game with Bristol rovers

  4. A silly little game called Slackers is out on Steam today. Might have to purchase that and let out my inner child for a bit after today’s work shift!

  5. For myself, I’ve started playing Disco Elysium finally. Great old school RPG type game with genuinely great dialogue. Enjoying it so far.

With the kid, Fortnite as per usual. We’re both quite enjoying this Marvel themed season.

  6. Smashed through Space Marine 2 this week. Absolutely loved it. So much I think it might have just pulled me back into the Warhammer hobby. Gonna buy some hungry aliens to paint.

Whilst not strictly a video game, played Brass Birmingham on tabletop sim with a friend last night. Had a great time catching up.

  7. I’ve gone back to the toxic mess that is Counterstrike after a couple of years of LoL. I forgot how funny chat can be when everyone accepts that they are as shit as the next guy.

  8. I’ve been playing **Astrobot** and thoroughly enjoying it. I’m very glad they released a non-vr game; as much as Rescue Mission was fantastic I think having it on VR meant it didn’t get the visibility it should have. Anyway, I’ve finished the main missions so am wrapping up getting all the bots and jigsaw pieces, then I’ve a couple of missions in the lost galaxy to do. I loved the Nioh level, and not just because I love Nioh, it was a really fun mission.

Don’t know what to play next. I’m toying with the Alan Wake 2 DLC, or maybe FFXVI DLC. Not many hours in them though I feel like playing a full game.

  9. Funnily enough – I’ve been playing BG3! Hopefully finishing up my dark urge playthrough this week, then its on to honor mode. So close to getting the platinum!

  10. I’m going back to my childhood and playing Assassins Creed Ezio Collection on my ps5 whilst playing Simpsons Hit & Run on my PS2

  11. I’m doing a rerun of Mount and Blade, Prophesy of Pendor mod.

Trying to escort some heads of cattle to a nearby village but there’s Sneks everywhere.

  12. ive realised i do not enjoy online gaming as much as i once did…

here for any recs on RPG games on the ps5? currently trying to finish Spiderman 2

  13. I had to reinstall dragon age origins on our slow af broadband after it kept hanging at ostagar but then realised it just needed patching 😩

  14. Still trying to finish Baldurs Gate 3, but keep getting distracted by other games – currently Space Marines 2.

  15. I gave wow a serious go, I levelled from 0-75 in about 30 ish hours having played through most of df, a bit of tww and some of the legacy content, on top of dungeons etc

It was not for me, I couldn’t stand the combat. The world and music was kinda neat. Seems like this is a common trait most mmorpgs share? I gave ff a go a few years ago and it shared the combat. I did play gw2 like a decade ago and that felt a little bit better, and I managed to complete the campaign then.

I’m now slowly playing through core keeper with my other half and trying to get into satisfactory, but I’m finding the first few hours tedious.

  16. I’ve downloaded Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, can’t wait to drive a speedboat around Venice and accidentally blow myself up

  17. Baldur’s Gate 3 never ends. Finished my third run last week and immediately started my fourth. Got The Plucky Squire on PSPlus or whatever it’s called so will check that out. Picked up Tactical Breach Wizards when it came out and really enjoying it, but…Baldur’s Gate lol.

  18. Replaying Elden Ring for the second time, after I got stuck and gave up the first time upon reaching Leyndell (looking back I was probably grossly underleveled).

This time I’ve made it all the way to the final boss, who I can’t beat, so I’ve decided to go back to the open world and explore and do all the optional areas before I wrap it up for good.

It’s unbelievable how much content there is in the base game alone – first time round I entirely missed massive areas including Volcano Manor and Consecrated Snowfield.

Currently making my way through the Haligtree to knock on Malenia’s door, then will pay Mohg a visit before finally returning to my old nemesis and hopefully giving him a good old stomping.

10/10 game and my favourite game since the original FFVII.

  19. Just finished playing ***Jusant***, a rock climbing game. It was pretty fun, but I’m not entirely sure I had the contest settings right. The game said to adjust until I could barely see the left most image, but that made the dark areas almost impossible to navigate.

Also bought a bundle of escape room video games, but I’m going through those really slowly because the FPS perspective makes me nauseous.

  20. Working my way through darkest dungeon 2. Really enjoying the change to a roguelite although the runs are quite long.

  21. Made an effort to get in to Midnight Suns after dropping it originally and really glad I did. Enjoying the tactical card game combat and all of the spooky super hero goth drama. Hanging out with Spider-Man is some real childhood wish fulfilment too.

  22. Also going through BG3 after having put it down a while ago. I’ve also just restarted Ghost of Tsushima on ps5, I haven’t played it since the directors cut and not at all on the ps5 so thought why not. It is still fun but going from hundreds of hours on Elden Ring back to this it feels like a bit of a downgrade, heh, it’s still a good game but it doesn’t have the same crunchy combat, I’m sure I’ll enjoy the playthrough anyway.

  23. I’ve been trying to play **Star Wars Jedi: Survivor** and I just cannot believe how little I’m enjoying it. The maps are way too large without guidance, the colour scheme doesn’t make it clear enough what you can and cannot jump onto, and so much of the gigantic maps are empty. Suspect it’s going to CeX this weekend.

  24. Bought No Man’s Sky. Played it. Boring fetch-quest walking sim with far too much upkeep needed. LOTS of caves and caverns to fall in. Constant blizzards reducing visibility to 0. I slogged through and managed to get my ship in to space. Got a Message to track down a distress beacon… on the planet I had just left. WTAF. Oh and there’s base building. I hate base building. Felt sad. I wanted the space exploration game with the awesome soundtrack.

I was about to give up but saw that there is a Relaxed way to play with less upkeep, so I thought I’ll have another go on a new save. And WOW I am loving it. The planet I started on second time around was miles better, lots of stuff to mine and scan. Already visited two space stations, a new system, and different planets. And I’m building bases because it’s quite fun on relaxed upkeep mode!

I still haven’t managed to get the tunes on the go though but yes, I think I just got very unlucky on my first planet.

  25. Got a gaming PC over the weekend, BANG into wow now lol, just wish I could figure some hardware stuff out

  26. Playing **Mass Effect** as I’ve never played it before. Knew nothing about it and am enjoying it so far, although the combat is a little clunky. Initially didn’t realise there were different class options so had to restart after the first mission – rebuilt as a Vanguard!
