Thought I would post an update on the back door lock.
I drilled it after a lot off people said that’s what a lock smith would do anyway.
I watched the YouTube videos and I went to b&q this morning for the drill part and a new lock
And I did it !! Less than 10 mins and I changed the lock

Right through the pins. I had this problem last year and attempted to drill it and got no where. Although the man in the hardware place showed me a rather dubious method of snapping the lock in two while it’s in the door allowing it to slide out.
