Parking fine Scam text message

SCAM ALERT

Fake Parking fine text message.
Received the following text suggesting I received a Parking ticket, knew it was a lie, and as you can see below some reasons how you should be able to spot it too.

Ways to spot a scam like this:

1) You shouldn't get parking tickets via text message.
a) Official (government) Parking tickets are stuck to your window by the traffic warden at the time they observe you breaching parking conditions. There will be an associated reference number for the ticket
b) Private companies (e.g. eurocarparks) will issue you a ticket via the post after contacting the DVLA

2) You don't typically enter your registration for a Parking ticket – usually it's a random reference number.

3) gov.uk web design but not the gov.uk Web address (see image)

4) you can enter any 10 character "number plate" and it will still generate a ticket on this website.

If you receive a text message like this or other scam/spam messages forward the message to 7726 and follow the instructions in the reply.
