Masked stuntwoman at opening ceremony reveals her identity



Lilou Ruel, 21, was the only woman among the nine athletes who embodied the character of the “masked bearer” during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games and the Parade of Champions. She tells us what went on behind the scenes of these performances, between “adrenalin”, “hardships” and pride.

  1. She explains that she is proud to be the only woman to play this character. The coordinator of the Parade of Champions insisted that she be the last to wear the costume.

    The stuntmen were contacted a month to a month and a half before the competition, with only 2-3 days of training.

    She also explains that the rain on the day of the opening ceremony required a few adjustments for the safety of the stuntmen on the roofs (more ties). In her opinion, the costume was very difficult to wear (ruffles, helmet/masks), especially when performing aerial acrobatics.

    She is Parkour World Champion 2023.
