But is Tuchel the manager now?
Well, as you said, Tuchel demanded him, not Kompany. It seems like Kompany wants his CDMs to be better on the ball and to create more. Palhinha is great at disrupting opponents play, but not as good as creating something. As Bayern is a very dominant side in most matches, it seems like he prefers more active players. Palhinha might see more playing time in the CL though, since there are tougher opponents, which ask for a more defensive approach
I agree it’s very weird they spent so much on him only for him to sit on the bench. Doesn’t make a lot of sense.
I could imagine that they bought Palinha for matches against teams that want to have a lot of possession themselves. Palinha is there to disrupt their plan. So He will likely play in CL and Bundesliga matches against BVB, Leverkusen, Stuttgart and so on. I think Kompany expects a lot of ball possession and dominance for Bayern today.
Well, we have Kompany ball now, so Kompany ball be it not Tuchel ball
we have kimmich and pavlovic and you wonder?
Ok, so who are you sitting?
You dont need a Player Type like palhinha when you expect high posession. Palhinha will Most likely start the closer Games Where the Opposition ist more Creative on the Ball, like Leverkusen, Stuttgart and the Big guys in CL
Doesn’t feel like this game needs a “destroyer”. Bayern is already dominating possession and living in the Bremen half. Pavlovic and Kimmich suit this kind of game much better
palhinha is a physically imposing destroyer type midfield. we will see him in cl against teams that play possession.
Because of Pavlovic
Pahlinha needs time to adapt, and wil likely start against stronger teams as his qualities against the ball is needed and more useful in such Games
Kompany is playing a very fluid and technical system so far, and Pavlovic is just better at that. I do think next month when we get into games, we may have to be a bit more solid that we’ll see more Pahlinha. Leverkusen is probably 50/50 depending if Kompany wants to go for it, but would expect him 100% to start at Villa in the Champions League.
At this point, it’s hard to really argue with any decision he’s made tactically.
