I found this photo from when I met Buster Merryfield in a book shop in the New forest. It was around ‘97. I remember wishing it was David Jason 😟 sorry Buster. Now I just really wish I wasn’t doing that weird pose.

4. Pretty sure there’s a road named after him in Verwood (not too far from the New Forest)?

5. We lived in Margate when they were filming the Jolly boys outing. They filmed some of it at stupid o clock in the morning a few streets over from us. My dad is a huge fan, and asked David for an autograph in between takes. He was obviously cold and miserable and told my dad to fuck off! Dad says he likes the anecdote more than he would have liked the autograph, and still talks about it to this day.
