Had two massive thunderstorms w/torrential rain, one yesterday afternoon, one early this morning. Both very short-lived then back to summer weather. Very odd!
Usual grey and drizzly weather here in Scotland.
Was over us in Stafford about 10-15mins and it’s almost gone now.
It’s literally just started pissing it down here!
Thunder storm, heavy rain and hailstone for 15 mins. Just a bit cloudy with sun peaking out now.
Blue sky, sunshine and 23 degrees here in London 🙂

Absolutely fucked it down in Wolverhampton. Serious flooding at the bottom of my street (although it has cleared) and it was rumbling and grumbling with torrential rain for a good hour earlier…
Sun all day, 10 minutes minutes of hail and thunder blew threw earlier.
I think there’s just one angry cloud blowing around the country on a bender.
Just had the closest/loudest thunder & lightning I’ve heard in 20+ years. It sounded like a bomb went off in my garden.

It was absolutely hammering it down here about 2 hours ago, loud thunder, street was a river. Then 29 minutes later clear blue skies with a few odd clouds… UK weather is something different.

Recent few weeks has been so weird.
It been Summer, into winter, back to humid summer, back to thunderbolts and lightning. It’s October already, why have I still got my windows open all day.
My mates are on DOFE lol

Sunshine, blue sky and 23⁰ here in Littlehampton. Apart from heavy rain in the small hours, it has been a banger of a day. Supposed to get very wet and stormy later/tomorrow though.
In the Midlands, and the rolling thunder and lightning has been going for around an hour now, including several epic thunderclaps that rattled the windows and scared the cats and my partner. There was a brief deluge, but really, not that much rain, considering the color of the sky and the racket it’s making. The forecast says this will continue until around 7pm, which would make it most atypical in my experience. Thunderstorms like this were a regular occurrence in the Far East where I grew up, but I’ve rarely heard it like this in the UK.
Torquay here. We have light grey cloud cover with bursts of sunshine.🤣
Tbf though, we have schizo weather so I’m not gonna say anything more 🤫🫣

News sites do this all the time. Could be a small storm localised to a single field in the middle of nowhere and they’ll report it as “UK FACING SEVERE WEATHER ALL WEEKEND”.
Broad UK-wide warnings just aren’t always going to apply to where you live. Best check local weather forecasts instead.
Midlands checking in, just got absolutely slammed. Hail, thunder, lightning, power outage, the lot.

It definitely feels like summer’s last hurrah here in Suffolk. 22 °C, clear skies and a lovely light breeze.
