Horrific, compare that to the almost 59,000 American troops that were killed over the 20 years of conflict in Vietnam & the amount of protests in the USA against that war. It’s hard to believe that there is any support at all in Russia for this slaughter

They didn’t just lose them like it was an accident or unpreventable disaster.
The Russian general staff sent people, mostly younger uneducated men, to be slaughtered and maimed in a neighboring country.
And for what?
Russia has vast amounts of land and natural resources already. The invasion of Ukraine was just a badly thought out political shit show. At any point, they could just pull back to their borders with a ceasefire and/or depose Putin the shitstain that caused the mass casualties.
That they don’t pull back and keep Putin in power means I really don’t give a shit how many Russians have been killed or injured.
