I’m almost surprised there isn’t at least one European country in which the mean age isn’t like 35.
I was a first time mum in Ireland at 38. Old toddler moms unite!! ✊🍼👵
Would’ve been more insightful if they had the median age too
31, single and childless, does that makes thr 1%? 🤣

My mum got me with 25. I am now 29 and my GF 27 and we dont expect to have kids for the next 3-5 years.
You know what would fix the birth problem of western civilization? Absolute care for mothers, no matter if they are single or not.
All mothers should get 100% economic independence regardless of their circumstances, provided they do not choose to work.
Higher education takes longer yes indeed
if we want more children in our western society, then we should not make becoming children a financial disaster. the number one risk of poverty is being a single parent, 40% divorce rate. do the math.
Can Europe even recover from this? Looking at South Korea and Japan I’m starting to think we can’t fix this issue in Europe either.
Good job romania 😉😉
Interesting but i dont know does this really tell anything
“Muh birth rate” Bro I think humanity will be just fine with more people becoming moms in their late 20s- early 30s.
Why only women data? Mean age of men first child is also interesting
The median data would be interesting to see.
Nowadays, most people focus on their career rather than thinking about their family. Therefore, the standard of living has become much higher. I believe that first world countries are less dependent on children than third world countries. Which subsequently affects the economy (not for the better for the first countries), but this is only a stage in the development of this society
Surprised that Ireland, Italy, Spain are so high as Catholic countries where large families are quite common
I’d say add 5 or so more years onto Ireland.
Had my kid at 30 in 2022, Portugal, none of my friends have kids tho.
Those are rookie numbers. Gotta push ‘em up.
It’s pretty fascinating to me people in their twenties think they’re stable, secure, and mature enough to have a child. At 26 I still feel like a kid – I’m building my career, saving for a house, traveling and partying, maybe get a PhD… no way in hell I’m thinking about having (more likely adopting) a kid in the next five, eight years.
I’m Russian born and my mom had me at 28, we moved to Norway and most of my peers parents are in their 50’s, sometimes 40’s or 60’s.
I see a pattern here
I wouldn’t really have kids sooner than age 32 at least
We need more new slaves!
thats all way higher numbers as i expected
Takes much much longer to become financially stable in today’s world.
