  1. I’m old…but I’m not that old. Only thing that resonates with me is the Optrex bottle.

  2. I reckon I’m one of the oldest on reddit but this is before my time.

  3. Surprising how many of those brands are still going. Probably completely different ownership nowadays though.

  4. Scott’s Porage Oats, Brasso and Lea&Perrins pretty much haven’t changed.

  5. As a ‘younger’ person I did one similar the other day. What were they doing in the 50s with all the custard? There were about 5 or 6 different custard brands!

  6. Is that the [Museum of Brands](https://museumofbrands.com/)? Amazing place over in Notting Hill/Ladbroke Grove. Though it gets depressing when you walk through the toy section and hit the point at which the toys you had as a kid appear…IN A MUSEUM.

  7. When I were wee, I used to think Teacher’s was for the exclusive consumption of school staff.

  8. The “Luton Straw Hat Dye!” I love that there was a product made to specifically dye your straw hats!!

  9. I’m 66 and it is really disconcerting just how many of the actual packages, not just the brands, that I recognise!!

  10. I have a few of Robert Opie’s books. That’s exactly what’s in them. Masses of British ephemera.

  11. I cannot remember the last time I saw blancmange or even heard someone mention it

  12. Just how old do you think we are? Its nice that most of these products are still going and a lot stayed close to their original designs.

  13. If I ever find myself getting nostalgic over a group shot of old supermarket products I will be booking a trip to Belgium

  14. I remember the Bronco toilet paper. Rough one side and shiny on the other.
We called it smear n scratch.

  15. I (55yo) remember my gran having a box of those fairy soap flakes

  16. If you love that, you should all check out Oakham Treasures, just south of Bristol. They have an entire building full of that stuff. It’s brill.
