Russia’s crude oil shipments have dropped to their lowest levels in eight months, potentially complicating President Vladimir Putin’s defense spending plans. Oil, which contributed 16% to Russia’s GDP in 2023, has been a key target of Western sanctions since the invasion of Ukraine. Recent data shows that crude oil shipments have decreased, particularly in the Pacific region, which may be due to maintenance issues.
While it’s uncertain if this trend will continue, experts suggest monitoring Russia’s budget oil revenues. Despite the fall in oil shipments, Putin is planning to significantly increase defense spending in 2025 to maintain the country’s war footing.
Good!
Fuck Russia
Sanction companies in India and Turkey that continue to buy Ruzzian oil. See Bill Browder’s presentation to UK parliamentarians about this.
BUT SANCTIONS AREN’T WORKING THEY ARE HITTING US MORE THHAN THEM
Pre- invasion Oil amounted to 30% of GDP.
Keep hitting storage and especially refineries and this will take a long time to recover.
Good, keep going.
Ukraine keeps hitting the storage and refineries can they hit the means of transport – ships and pipelines or too far away?
Sanction the Greek tankers company!
Buy American
Oh no…..Anyway.
I’m curious, but what is to stop the Ukrainians from slipping across the border and traveling to remote areas of Eastern Russia to attack pipelines? Surely, that would be easier than hitting heavily defended refineries etc in the western regions.
