Wish I still followed the academy, never heard of a Manc Braithwaite.
Refreshing to see some academy players
going to be an exciting side to watch tonight
Not being optimistic about this. How tf is possible that walker, stones and Doku can play in less than 48 hours after Sunday’s game without risking an injury?
I love it!!! Giving some youth players a chance plus with some senior players. Watching McAtee, O’Reilly and Braithwaite closely this match.
So glad club were able to get the EFL Trophy match originally scheduled for 24 Sept changed so Nico is avail – excited to see him play again.
And the 16 year old, youngest to debut under Pep during his time at ManCity!
adding – and really glad to see James & Matheus get minutes, and Phil get match sharpness minutes.
adding #2 – but surprised to see eg Manu & Ruben on bench bc players union recommends full breaks as being in named in a squad still takes a mental & physical toll.
Really good lineup.
McAtee, this is your time to shine!!
Who’s DM then? Nico?
Fun team
Great to see so many local lads in the side. 8 English players as well
From *The Athletic*, a bit more about Braithwaite:
>Braithwaite signed for City at the usual under-9 stage, having been picked up by the club’s junior academy — following in the path of Phil Foden and Cole Palmer, among others.
>He can play in several positions, including centre-back, left-back and in midfield, and as well as being a bigger build than many City academy youngsters — something Guardiola noted during pre-season when discussing tall midfielder Nico O’Reilly, who also starts against Watford.
>Having made his debut for the under-18 side last season, he was promoted to that age group full time during the summer and has already been named vice-captain by coach Oliver Reiss.
Hello false 9 my old friend
Is this on the telly?
Edit – Found it on Sky Sports Plus, whatever that is. Never noticed it before.
