Two questions: 1) Why can’t they advertise the title of the fim? 2) What is the title of the film?

  1. [Woman in Gold](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woman_in_Gold_(film)), a 2015 biographical film starring Helen Mirren, Ryan Reynolds, and Charles Dance.

    > The film is based on the true story of Maria Altmann, an elderly Jewish refugee living in Cheviot Hills, Los Angeles, who, together with her young lawyer, Randy Schoenberg, fought the government of Austria for almost a decade to reclaim Gustav Klimt’s iconic painting of her aunt Adele Bloch-Bauer, Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I, which was stolen from her relatives by the Nazis in Vienna just prior to World War II. Altmann took her legal battle all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States, which ruled on the case Republic of Austria v. Altmann (2004).

  2. Woman in Gold.

If they told you what it was you’d be even less likely to attend.

  3. My local cinema does a ‘mystery film’s once every fortnight. They have 6 clues and almost everyone works it out etc.

Think it’s just a bit of fun and a way to make noise about a film they are showing that isn’t new.

Got to see the return of the king at the cinema last week. Epic.

  4. Why? Because it clearly says on the poster that their licence prevents it.

  5. It’s probably a porno involving a women and golden showers. That’s why they can’t say the title.

  6. Google AI says this

    Public Video Screening Licence (PVSL)

This license allows for advertising within the licensed premises only, such as on internal notice boards or posters. It’s typically used by schools, care organizations, and other establishments.

  7. “The conditions of our screening licence do not allow us to advertise the title of the film”

  8. If it was precious metal in female you could have Goldfinger

  9. The Passion of Saint Tibulus.

I hear it’s some sort of nudey film.

  10. Iron man
    Female
    – fe- chemical symbol for iron
    -male- man
    In- within
    “precious metal” clue

  11. The cryptic clue is clearly wrong, because the first of *redacted* is you don’t talk about *redacted*

  12. It’s Fight Club. That’s why they don’t talk about it.

  13. I look forward to their showing of “Serpents Aboard an Aircraft”.

  14. Okay. Ill giva ya that, Karl. That one works. Play a record

  15. It’s probably aimed at film nerds who like a challenge but don’t actually care what the movie is as long as they’re on the same wavelength as the curators. Probably the same regulars attend every time. If they keep it cryptic they might attract more people who gel with the usual group than just saying what it is

  16. I used to live in west cork and worked in Skibbereen arts centre in the late 90s. I was sort of obliged to run the local film society (a nationwide network of arts council programming), which screened 16mm reels in one of the hotels. We were full every screening and nobody cared what the film was, it was a local grown ups night out once a month. I’d stand at the front for a minute and introduce the film title, genre, stars and director and the year. Great times.
