Didn’t they pledge a shoplifting crackdown the other week? That happens to be the most common crime women are inside for, so presumably it will just be endless wrist slaps for female shoplifters now with no chance of ever getting a custodial sentence.

Women make up the smallest percentage of the prison population, but by virtue of being women deserve to be free?
