They may call themselves “Unified Right”, but if you asked their God-Emperor 40 years ago is he is right or left he would say left and 30 years ago he would describe himself as centrist. He is one of most adaptable politicians, motivated in his 50 years of political carrier by like two issues. Until 2010 it was decomunisation and revenge on people who supported that system and since 2010 revenge on everybody he deems responsible for death of his brother. Rest is negotiable.
Is PiS currently on the right? Yes. But it was 30 years of trials and errors and changing the narrative to find stable electoral base. And they destroyed careers of every principal right-wingers that ever allied with them, because they want the right wing support but do not want people’s motivated by idea and principles in the party.
Just because they tried undermine a lot democratic institutions it does not make them extreme right. Besides their idols is Polish left wing dictatorship between 1926 and 1939.

I’m sorry, but no matter how shit PiS is (“Law nad Justice”), they aren’t a far-right party. Certainly right-wing, conservative, populist, but I wouldn’t place them in the same spot as AfD, for example. Only party in the parliament that can be described as such is Konfederacja, they have 15% of the vote at the very best, practically about 8%.
