Stolen Bike outside Aldgate Station

I know this is such a long shot because it’s such a common bike model, but my bike was stolen between 12pm – 5pm right outside Aldgate Station today, worst part is it was only my third time riding it 🙁

The only identifiable things are the blue Quad Lock phone holder and its missing a rear light as I had the rear light on charge when it was stolen

Any advice or insights welcome 😢😢

  1. Sorry to hear it. It’s horrible.

If you don’t mind, what lock/locks were used and how did they get past the locks?

  2. This is why I don’t have a bike. I couldn’t imagine just leaving something of value outside unattended. People cannot be trusted.

  3. Hold on, so you left an expensive (?) bike unattended during peak times outside ALDGATE station & expect it to still be there? It’s Aldgate mate, not South Kensington.

  4. Sucks to hear and i know how you feel. I learnt the exact same lesson in regards to using those shitty locks. Just be glad it wasn’t an expensive bike and invest in a decent lock.

  5. Even if the bike was 50k police won’t be bothered to chase it up. They will tell you that they are investigating and thats it. I read somewhere that even if the bike has a tracker police can’t go into someone’s property for checks. The law protects the criminals more therefore these thefts happen all the time. Uk needs to sort the way criminals are dealt by introducing harsher name & shame punishments, then maybe we’ll see less of these.

  6. My bike cost me £20, and got cheapest £12 lock from Halfords. Never been stolen. I’ve left it attached to a Tescos railing for 24 hours. I park it in front of businesses all the time.

    Lesson in there.
